Patriotic Tissue Paper Carnations - Bouquet for 4th of July

Craft a patriotic bouquet of red, white, and blue tissue paper carnations.

These flowers make an eye-catching decoration for your table or brighten any corner of the house. They are easy to make and use just a few simple and inexpensive supplies. 

You will need: 

Red, white, and Blue tissue paper

Large paper cup or lid (about 4" diameter)

Pencil

Scissors

Pinking sheers or decorative scissors

Green pipe cleaners

This flower ball is made from dollar-store materials, but looks so elegant when you are finished. It looks great hung from a ribbon or set on top of a vase for centerpieces. Easy crepe paper flowers

Crepe paper flowers are beautiful, and look more realistic than most tissue-paper flowers. It's easy to make a wide variety just by cutting the border differently. You can buy crepe paper at dollar stores, party supply stores, and variety stores. These flowers are also a great way to recycle crepe paper used for party decorations.

Tissue Paper Poppies

Craft beautiful tissue paper poppy flowers

It's poppy season here in Northern California. All of the wildflowers are spectacular, but especially the neon orange poppies that grow in waves close to the lakes and in the fields. Since the real ones only last a few weeks, I made these longer-lasting tissue version.

Orange and yellow tissue paper
